Episode 082 - End Times Revisited

DragonKing Dark host Karl Stern revisits an earlier episode on the end times.  Yesterday, September 23rd, 2017 the world was supposed to end according to some but, obviously, it didn't.  But the month leading up to this weekend was full of tragedy, rumors of wars, earthquakes, hurricanes, and more.  It was enough to, well, make you wonder.  On this week's episode of DragonKing Dark host Karl Stern revisits his previous show on end time prophecy as well as talks about recent events.  DragonKing Dark is part of the When It Was Cool Podcast Network, a Patreon funded website -

G.I. Joe is... dead. And I know exactly who to blame.

G.I. Joe is dead.  R.I.P.  Rest in Peace.  I have followed the property continuously since 1982 when I bought most of the first series "straight arms" off the shelf.  I read every issue of the Marvel Comics G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero comic book series straight off the shelf beginning at issue seven.  I was more a fan of the comics than of the Sunbow cartoon series but I have still seen every one of them.

Even through the "dark years" of the late 1990s when there weren't any G.I. Joe products on the shelf, I continued to be a fan, collecting figures off of eBay and flea markets.  I didn't even hate the movies.  Ok, the first one was a little rough, but I don't hate it.  I am as hardcore a G.I. Joe fan and collector as you will find.  While I'm not a famous or a well known member of the online community, I watch all the videos from the greats like FormBX257 and Hooded Cobra Commander 788.  I am a big fan of GIJoburg podcast, Joe on Joe, Star Joes

Episode 071 - IT the 2017 Movie

This week's DragonKing Dark is a spoiler free discussion of the 2017 movie based on Stephen King's novel IT.  I also watched the terrible 1990 mini-series and talk about what the 2017 movie did that was so much better.  While this is a spoiler free discussion of the movie it does contain general plot point discussion.  This show primarily focuses on the fear elements used in the movie and how and why people fear the things they do.

Episode 078 - Communing With the Dead

On this week's edition of DragonKing Dark, host Karl Stern discusses the ancient belief that it is possible to communicate with those who have died.  From the Biblical Witch of Endor to the more modern Ouija Board our ancestors have long felt that it was possible to talk to those who have passed on.  Where do we go when we die? Why do many believe there is life after death?  This episode continues our recent series of shows discussing how little we still know about death.
