G.I. Joe is dead.  R.I.P.  Rest in Peace.  I have followed the property continuously since 1982 when I bought most of the first series "straight arms" off the shelf.  I read every issue of the Marvel Comics G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero comic book series straight off the shelf beginning at issue seven.  I was more a fan of the comics than of the Sunbow cartoon series but I have still seen every one of them. Even through the "dark years" of the late 1990s when there weren't any G.I. Joe products on the shelf, I continued to be a fan, collecting figures off of eBay and flea markets.  I didn't even hate the movies.  Ok, the first one was a little rough, but I don't hate it.  I am as hardcore a G.I.
